Integrity & Compliance Task Force

Task Force Overview

Strengthening integrity, transparency, and ethical governance is fundamental to building resilient, inclusive economies. The B20 South Africa Integrity & Compliance Task Force is advancing emerging recommendations that help embed responsible business conduct and fight corruption across global markets and value chains.

Corruption not only undermines trust, but also stifles growth, distorts competition, and deters investment. That’s why this Task Force is focused on developing actionable proposals to strengthen compliance systems, expand cross-border cooperation, and harness technology to detect and prevent misconduct.

The Task Force is focused on three priority areas:

  1. Strengthening Anti-Corruption Measures:
Promoting Collective Action initiatives and strengthening public-private partnerships for integrity and inclusive growth, supporting more robust enforcement mechanisms and enhanced global cooperation across jurisdictions, particularly in emerging markets.
  2. Enhancing Integrity & Compliance Frameworks:
Promoting transparent and responsible corporate governance and ethical conduct across jurisdictions and sectors with a focus on sustainability standards and disclosures and advocating for the adoption of international sustainability reporting, sustainability assurance and sustainability ethics and independence standards.
  3. Leveraging Technology for Integrity:
Exploring how digital tools, such as AI, blockchains, and data analytics, can help establish secure and inclusive digitally driven whistleblowing platforms, detect fraud, monitor risks, and improve compliance efficiency.

Through this work, the B20 South Africa aims to help businesses create cultures of accountability, drive ethical growth, and build trust with communities and stakeholders; ensuring that governance reform becomes a catalyst for sustainable development.
